West Melbourne Takes the Next Step
The City is moving forward with its plan to create a first class recreation program.
The first question of where the recreation center would be was answered when the City Council designated the former West Melbourne City Hall located at 2285 Minton Road as the Veterans Memorial Complex. The complex is adjacent to the tennis and racquetball courts of Bryant Adams Park.
The next question of who will run the recreation program was answered when Robert "Chris" Johnson was selected as the City's Recreation Coordinator.

Robert "Chris" Johnson
Recreation Coordinator
|
Our new Recreation Coordinator has many tasks ahead of him, including redesigning the inside of the building to accomodate future classes and meeting rooms, organization of activities such as computer education classes, craft classes, senior, adult and children activities and much more.
Chris is bursting with ideas and plans for the City's recreation program, but volunteers are also necessary to help make it a reality. If you have spare time that you would like to put to good use or if you have recreation ideas or contacts, please call 321-837-7779 or e-mail Chris Johnson.
