The West Melbourne Water Department is committed to an active water looping and water line replacement program.
Recently completed projects include a waterline extension on Henry Avenue from Park Hill Boulevard to Dairy Road, a new water main along Minton Road from Henry Avenue to Palm Bay Road, replacement water lines in Cannova Park, a new water main at CinemaWorld and Fairfield Inn that provides a loop water system in that area to increase water volume and pressure, the replacement of 1,900 feet of water main along Henry Avenue west of Doherty Drive, a replacement water main along Bry-Lynn Drive and connecting the Bry-Lynn and Woodland Manor neighborhoods to improve circulation and pressure, replacement of the water main on north McClain Drive, and a new water main on Ellis Road that supported Florida Department of Transportation improvements associated with the I-95 and Ellis Road interchange construction.
More PROJECTS AHEAD
In late 2019, the City awarded a construction bid for a new water main along Columbia Lane, under U.S. 192, along Brandywine, and under I-95. This project will be constructed in the first half of 2020. In early 2020, the City plans on bidding a new water main along the M-1 Canal from west of Dairy Road to Wickham Road. This project will be constructed in the second half of 2020. Design is also underway for a water main replacement project for the Melbourne Estates neighborhood. Construction is planned for 2021.
