City Hall is re-opening to the public effective 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 30th. Face coverings are required.
Payment is due after plans examination has been completed. There are no upfront fees due at permit submission time. Payment can be can be made by cash, check or by using the credit card authorization form. Email the authorization form to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Inspections are continuing as normal. Inspections must be called in Monday through Friday by 4:00 p.m. to be placed on the next business day’s schedule.
Fence and mechanical permit applications can be emailed in to: email@example.com
Any other permits, such as screen rooms, windows/doors/shutters, solar, fire alarm/sprinklers, or new builds, will need to be dropped off or mailed in to City Hall.
See below for the current, fill-able applications. All applications submitted MUST have a notarized qualifier signature. A contract or estimate signed by the property owner can be used in lieu of their notarized signature on the application.
For fence and swimming pool permits: If property is adjacent to a Melbourne-Tillman water canal, a permit is required for temporary access of right of way use. The following link is to the application with the Melbourne-Tillman Water Control District.

Permit applications and construction plans are reviewed to verify that the proposed construction complies both with the City ordinances and the Florida Building Code. Our plan review staff is on duty and available for questions between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m.
When the permit has been approved, the plans examiner will determine the appropriate fees, and the permit will be issued after payment has been processed.

This is accomplished by verification that the construction was completed as specified in the submitted plans and is in substantial compliance with the Florida Building Code.
